Description:

Samaritan Mission School left no stones unturned to celebrate the 158th Birthday Anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, the Noble Laureate.

The programme was beautifully inaugurated by an opening song by the teachers Madhurima, Sangita, Leena, Sunanda, Srimanti, Poushali, Poulami and Sonam Ma’am, which by followed by a speech Argha Sir. Bhanushinger Padabali was was beautifully and enacted by the girls of Class 9 which was mentored by Sharmishtha and Rinku Ma’am. A dance drama on Nirjhorer Swopno Bhango was gracefully showcased by Arunima Ma’am followed by the group of Class 8 boys singing Bhalo Manish Noi Re Mora mentored by Mousumi Ma’am.

The show was further followed with tying of Rakhi on the hands of teachers and putting tikas on their forehead done by the fellow students while songs were sung and performed by Sunanda and Sangita Ma’am

The most awaited and talk of the show drama Birpurush which was introduced by Mohsin Sir was directed none other than Manasij Sir, mentored by Ishita Ma’am and Dibyendu Sir. The students of Class 6 and 7 participated and enacted their roles with much grace and precession. The voice over for the mother’s role played by Ishita Ma’am was voiced over by Souvika Ma’am and the narrator and other characters were voiced over by Manasij Sir and Dibyendu Sir.

The programmed continued with a number of following events. A Hindi poem which was mentored by Pravin Sir, was recited by Ankita Singh of Class 6, a poem from Geetanjali was performed by Gunjan Shah and Bilquis Khatoon mentored by Sangita and Rafia Ma’am. Prayasi Ma’am recited the Baul Song Sishu Bholanath that touched everyone’s hearts.An English translation of Bidhir Badhon was mentored by Argha Sir and performed by Saiyada Noor of Class 7. 

The second last programme of the event, the dance performance by Sharmishtha, Rinku, Madhumita and Moumita Ma’am stole everyone’s hearts followed by Sreecheta Ma’am ending the programme with how Rabindranath is intertwined in our daily lives. Be it any in any season, any time of the day, Rabindranth through his relatable and admirable works have stolen our hearts and made him a big part of our lives which we can’t live without.

The programme was a great success judging from the constant and heartfelt claps from the audience. The entire programme was anchored by Mousumi Ma’am and Argha Sir. They created the slides relating to each of the events performed. The script for the entire programme was made by Argha Sir our Cultural Secretary and the technical support was given by Debdutta Sir thereby contributing and making the event a huge success.
